Company Background Information

Summit Software, Inc. is a Little Rock, AR-based company that develops and supports integrated business, human resources and payroll management software, specifically tailored for Professional Employer Organizations, Temporary Staffing and Payroll Processing firms.

Bill Dodgen and Sean Flanagan are co-owners of the firm. Dodgen founded Summit Software in 1982 and developed it into a leading supplier of equipment leasing software for banks and lease financing firms throughout the United States. In 1992, Summit spun off its equipment leasing software division in order to concentrate its efforts fully on providing software for the PEO industry. Sean Flanagan joined the firm in1995. Bill and Sean each have over 25 years of experience in software design and programming, accounting, finance, payroll and human resources administration.

The company employs 15 persons and supports a client base of over 140 firms engaged in payroll and human resource administration. Clients range from smaller, start-up firms to those paying over 40,000 employees throughout the year. Additionally, Summit developed the software system used by the fourth largest Payroll Processing firm in the nation. This company pays in excess of one million employees each month.

Summit was the first PEO software company to offer an online Web interface for its clients and their employees. Over sixty percent of Summit’s new clients come from existing PEO’s that are upgrading from a different PEO processing system. Personnel using the Summit software system are supported on a daily basis through telephone support and secure internet connections. Summit also offers ongoing training classes at its Little Rock headquarters.
