Summit Software NewsNovember 2006New Clients: Summit extends a hearty welcome to the following new clients:
Apex Upgrades: Two Summit clients are currently undergoing the upgrade to Apex, Summit’s acclaimed new processing system. The conversion processes are being honed during these upgrades so that a majority of Summit clients may be scheduled for the upgrade during 2007. Summit would like to upgrade as many as eight clients per month beginning in February, 2007. October 2006Version 6.6 upgrades: Recently, several clients have upgraded to Version 6.6 in preparation for an upgrade to Summit Apex next year. Although it is not necessary to make this upgrade prior to installing Apex, Version 6.6 does make extensive use of Benefit Pricing Tables and Client Match rules for benefits, just as they are handled in Apex. In addition to the robust benefit administration system, version 6.6 also provides a new Time Off Accrual system, built-in rates and procedures for thousands of local taxes, improved third party check payments and revised job costing reports. Donna Scott hangs up her Summit Track Shoes: After six-plus years in service to Summit clients, Donna Scott is leaving Summit and making her new home in Wichita, KS. We wish Donna and her husband Mark well. Many of you have expressed the same sentiments, and we’re all sad to see Donna leave. She will be missed. August 2006Clients attend successful Web roundtable discussion: Summit software was pleased to host the first annual Web Roundtable Discussion Group in Little Rock recently. Over 25 clients sent representatives to discuss web related issues such as open enrollment, upgrades to the product, and web services for the future. Many great suggestions were offered by our clients and we look forward to more open communication as we work towards building a greater product. Thanks to all who attended. July 2006Revised Time Off Accrual System: After months of development, a thoroughly revised Time Off Accrual Accounting System has been released in Version 6.6. One of the main improvements is that it maintains a log of all accrual transactions for each employee plan. This log may be printed at any time and may be viewed through the Web by employees. Users will find unparalleled features in this new system, such as the ability to have plan years settled on a calendar year basis, while years of service rate adjustments are based upon employee anniversary dates. Also, a new feature allows employees to recover cap losses if they actually take time off and reduce their balances under the cap limit. |
