2.
Mini Training Moment - Typing Names and Addresses
Why bother to click the NAME or ADDRESS button?
The StaffSoft program is now set to parse the sections of a name
or address allowing search queries to be concise. Typing the
information in the Name or Address Box freeform style does not
guarantee the proper separation tags will be in place.
Resist the temptation to type an address freeform and click
the NAME and ADDRESS buttons to complete your information input.

Commonly Asked Questions -
-
Pat asked, "Can you change ownership of an
individual record?"
Absolutely!
When a record is created (first added) into the
program,
the name of the person logged in is captured and assigned
the
record. This is not always the
individual that will work with
this
record.
The
StaffSoft System Administrator or manager can change the
ownership
of a Client, Applicant, Job Order, or Sourcing record.
How to change the ownership in any of the above listed modules:
a. Click FILE in the
upper menu
b. Choose ASSIGN A NEW
RECRUITER ID
c.
The list of recruiters assigned in the system will appear.
Choose the recruiter's name from the list
d. Click the OK button
- Summit Software
has it's own training room?
In the later part of 1999 we created a training facility that
accommodates up to 4 students at the corporate office in Houston.
This allowed us to host small companies and specialized training
requests. Houston in the winter is a welcome respite from the
frozen north! (Okay, I realize this could be under the shameless
commerce section, but I've had more than one person ask!)
Specialized trainings have included:
Accounting - overview
of program and in-depth timecard, invoice,
accounts receivable, and related report features.
Managerial - overview of program, accounting, management reports
and facilitating workflow development discussions for upper
management and owners.
Other than StaffSoft - Hire your own trainer and lease our cozy
training room for a day. (Subject
to availability.)
Call to discuss your company needs!

Administrator's Utility Review - Accounts
Receivable Aging Report
Andy just generated invoices and called to inquire why the A/R Aging
report shows some items in the 1 - 30 Day Past Due column and many
more in the current. Good
question!
This has everything to do with the Net Terms set up for the client or
job order and the Due Date of the invoice.
Due Upon Receipt items will
immediately log in the 1 - 30 Day Past Due column.
Items with Net 15
will appear in the 1 - 30 Day Past Due column 16 days after the invoice
date, and so on.
To get to this report:
from the Main Menu choose Invoices > Reports > A/R Aging
Adjust your filters as necessary. Print or Preview as needed.

Manager's Moment - Legislation Watch
There is so much legislation and pending court battles hitting the
national and local scenes that will affect the staffing industry.
A busy manager may find it difficult to keep abreast of the latest
concerns.
National, many local, and industry specific staffing associations
keep a good eye on pending legislations.
Consider looking into
the outstanding legislations, choosing one a month to write a
representative about your point of view.
If you inform them, they
won't know. Let them know the value you are to the economy!
The StaffSoft website (www.summit-sw.com/staffsoft) RESOURCES area has many
links to these national, local and industry specific staffing
associations to ease your search. I
list below four examples to
get you started.
Staying informed, keep our industry alive!
Kindest regards,
Johnnie Tate, Technical Support Manager

page
outlining state legislation and pending court cases. (www.napsweb.org/napstrack.htm).
National

PAC
to strengthen lobbying efforts in the computer staffing industry (www.naccb.org/pac.asp).
